WBAL, Baltimore, MD

1960 era photos from its original studios on North Charles Street in Downtown Baltimore taken by RACampbell. It was owned by Hearst Corporation along with WBAL-TV and two newspapers, the Baltimore News-Post and the Baltimore American (which later merged as the Baltimore News-American before shutting down in 1986). On air station ident at the time was "WBAL radio 1090, Baltimore. Associated with the Baltimore News Post and Sunday American". The station was affiliated with the NBC Network and carried most local sports, NBC "Monitor" on weekends and was a Beautiful Music formated station at the time. Program Director, Art Wander. Air staff included Perry Andrews, Jay Grayson, Jim West, Mollie Martin, Alan Campbell, Paul Shields and Galen Fromme newscaster.
