WBZ-AM, Boston’s oldest radio station and the first commercially licensed station in America,
celebrated its 90th birthday. WBZ's initial license, for operation in Springfield, was issued by the Department of Commerce to the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company on September 15, 1921.
